The Waregem World War I visitors centre is located on the second floor of the stands at the Gaverbeek Hippodrome. HIPPO.WAR has two permanent exhibitions covering 1,300 m²: one about the role the Americans played during WWI and the other about the role horses played in WWI. Using photographs, video and audio fragments, authentic documents, an interactive quiz, and even a replica of a horse hospital, you can discover more about these possibly lesser-known stories from the Great War. HIPPO.WAR is open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Entry is free. Reservations are not required. Groups can also visit the exhibitions outside of the normal business hours. This is only possible with a (paid) guide. To make a reservation for a guided tour, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
