The creation of art didn't stop after the Lys Painters passed away. The region has remained very appreciative of art. The following museums and modern art galleries are much-loved by art lovers.
The Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens arises like a surprise in the rather traditional landscape along the Lys River in Deurle. It is mainly open for temporary exhibitions of modern art from Belgium and abroad.
Be-Part, the platform for modern art in Waregem, proves that art doesn't always have to be pompous. Be-Part doesn't house a permanent collection; it exhibits work by contemporary artists every two or three months. Other hotspots for modern art include Bubox in Kortrijk, Muze’um L in Roeselare, where the sun is the artist, the Kunstenhuis in Harelbeke, and Deweer Gallery in Otegem.
