Every two years the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens in Deurle, the Museum of Deinze and the Lys Valley, and the Roger Raveel Museum in Machelen-aan-de-Leie work together and organise a biennale. The biennale highlights a specific aspect related to painting from the last 100 years. The biennale doesn't strive for objectivity or completeness; it displays the work of artists from different generations next to each other. This approach helps clarifies the path that painting has followed since 1900. Each of the organising museums uses their own collection as a starting point and develops the theme differently.
The next edition will take place in 2018. You can get more information from the three participating museums.
